Addressing Crevice Corrosion

Challenge: During routine inspection of Small Bore Tubing assemblies by AFS Technologies asset integrity team it was noted that there was a higher than usual incidence of crevice corrosion under tube clamps

Approach: We carried out an investigation into samples of the pitted tubing, determined the root cause and provided the operator with a range of remedial options

Result: AFS Technologies installation team were contracted to replace all of the existing tubing and fittings with an alternative material and special tube clamps. The project was delivered within a tight timescale with more than 20 technicians mobilised to the offshore location
